All these phones share the same software base which is MIUI 11 based on Android 10. These devices already got 2 Android and 3 MIUI updates in the past. Now they are eligible for MIUI 14. According to the information, these phones will receive an MIUI 14 which is based on Android 12.
Redmi Note 9S, Note 9 Pro, and Note 9 Pro Max MIUI 14 Internal Build
According to the official server, the last internal build of MIUI 14 for the Redmi Note 9 series was V14.0.2.0.SJZMIXM and V14.0.2.0.SJWMIXM. They were ready and tested for the phone. We assume soon release.
All these builds are Android 12-based updates. Normally MIUI 14 is an Android 13-based update but due to some reason, these phones are only eligible for MIUI 14 based on Android 12. This means these phones will not get Android 13. There could be a lot of reasons, but there is a particular reason that we think of is old hardware.
