Recently a report from the Digital chat station claimed that Xiaomi is planning to launch a new MiOS operating system while skipping the MIUI 15. However, Xiaomiui.net checks in detail that these reports are entirely baseless.
As per Xiaomiui.net, the company is currently conducting the testing of MIUI 15 on several devices and is expected to unveil it alongside in Xiaomi 14 series at the end of October. In addition, there is not any major information about MiOS which makes the rumor true.
To verify that claim, Xiaomiui.net conducted deep research on the Xiaomi server, and they found the MIUI 15 version for several devices. These hints indicate that MIUI 15 is currently in the development stage and will roll out for phones soon. The testing started for Xiaomi 12T, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Redmi K60 Pro, and Mix Fold 3.
However, the tipster does not rule out the probability of Xiaomi changing MIUI to MiOS in the new future but users will definitely get MIUI 15. Even if the company switches to a different operating system, we think MiOS will be available exclusively for China ROM while for Global it will be MIUI.
It is too early to say whether Xiaomi is working on a new MiOS operating system and may ditch MIUI. The internal testing of MIUI 15 showed that MIUI will not go away anytime soon at least for Global users.
