Google is speeding up on the development of Android 14, the first change that came to us, is a separate volume slider for ringtone and notification. Pixel users wanted this modification for a long time.
The notification/ringtone volume change is confirmed by a recent reply on the Google Issue Tracker. These changes were repeatedly requested by the users and now separate volume bars for notification and ringtone are available.
This requested feature will be available in future versions of Android 14. Although we didn’t know when these changes will take place. But we definitely see these modifications in the upcoming Android 14 OS.
We didn’t find any clue of notification/ringtone volume change in Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3 or in Android 14 Beta 1.1 firmware. While Mishaal Rahman (Android analyst) said Google was working on these changes since Android 13 QPR2 Beta.
In the recent Android 14 developer preview 2 we got a glimpse of a separate volume slider, so it’s clear that we could see this feature in the stable release of Android 13 QPR3, which is scheduled for June, or Android 14.
