We were expecting MIUI 13.5 before going for MIUI 14 update. But Xiaomi has released its MIUI 13.1 update in place of 13.5. MIUI 13.1 is not that different from MIUI 13. This new update is based on the new Android version.
The biggest chnage of the Next version of MIUI is that is based on Android 13. However, there are some phones based on Android 12 that also get this update, and probably the company will provide this update to more devices in the future. Google itself has to start the stable Android 13 to its devices but some Xiaomi smartphones and beta devices got MIUI 13.1 based on Android 12 as well as Android 13.
The new MIUI 13.1 is based on Android 13. Xiaomi is working to make it ready for other devices. With this update Xiaomi trying to make the Android 13-based device more capable in terms of performance and smoothness.
